My Skincare Starting Lineup
When it comes to skincare, my mom always taught me that less is more (& she was right, love you mom). Although my skin type is technically normal/ slightly dry, it's also very sensitive and has frequent rosacea flare ups. If I use a range of products or switch things up too much, I experience break outs or irritation. In other words, the more simple I keep it, the better. There's so many brands, creams, serums, masks, etc. out there that it gets confusing. My best advice from personal experience, is to bring it back to the basics. It has taken me time to figure out what works best (and of course, fluctuating hormones/ diet/ hydration etc. are factors that impact the skin as well) but here are a few of my most reliable daily products that I love dearly.
FOR MAKEUP REMOVAL: Bioderma Micellar Water for Sensitive Skin
I can’t express enough how much I love this product. Micellar water is an effective yet gentle facial cleanser thanks to the presence of micelles: compounds that efficiently remove dirt and oil from the skin without stripping it of its natural healthy oils. Give me the micelles please! I use this product as a light morning cleanser on a cotton pad before using my regular cleanser, as well as a makeup remover in the evening.
FOR CLEANSING: Bioderma Micellar Foaming Gel for Sensitive Skin
Yet another micellar water product to fall in love with (seriously, who discovered micelles cause I need to thank them). This cleanser is a gel type cleanser although foams when applied with water. Unlike most other foaming cleansers, I found this one effectively cleans the skin without resulting in the typical drying effect.
FOR MOISTURIZING: Cera Ve Daily Moisturizing Lotion for Normal-Dry Skin
The perfect dependable daily moisturizer that absorbs well and leaves no oily residue on the skin. What I love most about this product is that it also works perfectly as a base for my makeup. Foundation always applies so smoothly on top. Nothing fancy, just simple and effective.
Lastly, the best part about these 3 go-to's is that they're available at a reasonable price at most drug stores! Let me know if you try xx
